A beautiful stretch of weather is forecast for the week ahead. A cold front will move through the area tonight, which is bringing a likely chance of Showers and Thunderstorms today into tonight, although there will still be some dry time. It will be warm and humid with highs in the mid to upper-80s today, before we cool into the 70s for the middle of the week. As the cooler airmass moves overhead, some afternoon clouds will form as a result of the sun heating the ground, especially on Wednesday, but otherwise, we’ll see plenty of sunshine Tuesday through Thursday. Low temperatures will be in the 50s at night, with Wednesday night into Thursday morning being the coolest. Winds begin to shift back towards the southwest by late in the week and into the extended holiday weekend, so warmer air will return to mid-Michigan. Temperatures will warm to near 80 on Friday, then reach the low to mid-80s Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, Mostly Sunny skies continue, setting up what should be a very nice last unofficial weekend of summer. Next Monday, for Labor Day, should also experience lower-80s for highs.
For today, there is a low-end MARGINAL risk for isolated strong to severe thunderstorms, as seen here in the dark green color. Beyond today, there are no major weather systems approaching our area, so it’s a rather quiet and pleasant week. Enjoy the late summer sunshine and gorgeous temperatures!
